ADRC Of Dodge County Highlight Diabetes Program

(Juneau) The Aging and Disability Resource Center of Dodge County is hosting a program called “Healthy Living with Diabetes.” The class is offered twice a year and is on Wednesdays from 1pm to 3pm. This upcoming session starts this Wednesday, May 3rd, and goes through June 7th at SSM Health Clinic in Beaver Dam. Member of the Aging and Disability Resource Center Diane Coulter says the class is free.

“There is a suggested donation of $10,” says Coulter. “But don’t, you can’t afford it, that’s okay.”

Coulter says any adult who has or lives with someone who has Type 1 Diabetes or Pre-Diabetes should take part. During a recent appearance on Community Comment, Coulter said the six-week program can improve your health and well-being.

“You learn and share with others, designed especially for adult learners,” Coulter says,” “We learn different as an adult, and it’s not a lecture. [It’s] not like you’re sitting back in grade school or high school listening to the teacher talk.”

Those interested in registering for the class need to call the Aging and Disability Resource Center of Dodge County at 920-386-3580.
