$60K Bond Set For Fox Lake Man Accused Of Fleeing Police While Drunk

(Oak Grove) Cash bond was set at $60-thousand-dollars for a Fox Lake man accused of running from authorities while under the influence. Jeremy Boerson is facing a felony count of Fleeing, OWI Sixth Offense, and Bail Jumping as well as a misdemeanor charge of Resisting. A sheriff’s deputy spotted a vehicle with an attached trailer parked alongside Highway 26 near Oak Grove around 2:20am Saturday. Boerson was asleep behind the wheel but awoke when the deputy knocked on the window. According to the criminal complaint, Boerson had glossy, bloodshot eyes and his speech was slurred. A records check showed that the 50-year-old had an open OWI case in Fond du Lac County and could not consume alcohol. Boerson allegedly drove off, obeying speed and stop signs, but crossing the center line and weaving through the traffic lane. His vehicle was eventually disabled with spike strips near County Road A. Boerson reportedly refused commands from deputies during a high risk traffic stop. He was tased and taken into custody. If convicted, Boerson faces over 20 years behind bars. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 2nd.
