$30K Bond Set For Fond Du Lac Man Charged Following Pursuits With Dodge County Authorities

(Lomira) Cash bond was set at $30,000 Tuesday for a Fond du Lac man accused of stealing gas while fleeing Dodge County authorities. Travis Bruemmer is facing four felony counts including Robbery with Threat of Force, two separate Fleeing charges and a count of Intimidate a Victim. Bruemmer was allegedly asking residents in Lomira for gas and cigarettes while driving on his motorcycle Monday afternoon. According to the criminal complaint, the residents aided a sheriff’s deputy who located the cycle and began pursuing Bruemmer at speeds in excess of 100-miles-per-hour. The chase was called off after roughly four-miles. Shortly after, sheriff’s deputies were called to investigate a robbery complaint in Leroy where the homeowner reported that an individual – reportedly matching the description of the fleeing suspect – stole his gas. Another pursuit began when a sheriff’s sergeant allegedly observed Bruemmer’s motorcycle commit several traffic violations but ended when the bike entered Fond du Lac County. Bruemmer crashed his cycle and was arrested by Fond du Lac authorities. If convicted, the 32-year-old faces up to 32 years in prison. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 27th.
