JEFF CAMPBELL

Athlete

1980-1984

Jeff Campbell was a two-sport athlete at Beaver Dam HS, earning 5 varsity letters in Football, and Track & Field. Throughout his career, Jeff was a key member in the success that Beaver Dam High School experienced in football and track & field in the early 1980s, as both programs won Wisconsin Little Ten Championships during his junior and senior years.

Jeff earned 2 varsity letters in football, earning All-Conference honors as a running back during his senior season. During his junior season, Jeff was a member of the 1982 team that won the Wisconsin Little Ten Conference championship, and advanced to the state semi-finals of the WIAA Division Playoffs. As a senior, Jeff was selected as Team Captain of the 1983 team, which also won the conference championship.

Jeff also earned 3 varsity letters in Track & Field, competing in various individual and relay events. Throughout his career, Jeff won multiple Wisconsin Little Ten Conference championships in the 200M and 400M runs, as well as a member of the 400M, 800M, and 1600M relay teams. During his junior and senior seasons, his personal success contributed to the team’s dominance over their competition, winning the conference championship in 1983 and 1984. The 1984 team ranks perhaps as the best track team ever in school history, as it went undefeated throughout the season, finishing the season as not only conference champs, but as WIAA Regional and Sectional champions as well. Jeff, along with his relay teammates, set school records in the 400M, 800M, and 1600M relays, which as of 2024, continue to stand.

Jeff qualified for the WIAA State Track & Field Meet, in both 1983 and 1984, as a member of multiple relay teams. In 1984, he won two medals at the state meet with a 4th place finish in the 400M Relay, and 6th place in the 1600M Relay.

After high school, Jeff extended his athletic career at Lawrence University, earning 4 varsity letters each in both football and track & field. He was selected twice to the Midwest Conference All-Conference 1st Team as a running back in 1987 and 1988, and was a member of the 1986 team that won the conference championship. Jeff was part of the relay team that set the school record in the 1600M Relay in 1989. A record which, as of 2024, still stands. Jeff was selected as Team Captain of the track team in 1989.

After college, Jeff continued his athletic career by participating nationally in top tier Rugby, as a member of the Chicago Area Rugby Football Union Select Team competing throughout the U.S., and then later with the prestigious Midwest Rugby Football Select Team, which not only competed around the nation, but internationally as well, in England. He later played for Milwaukee Rugby Football Club– competing for the national championship twice, and later for Wisconsin Rugby Club, also competing for the national championship twice and winning the National Championship in 1998.

Jeff earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Lawrence University in 1989, and his Master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1995. Following his Master’s, Jeff worked for over twenty years providing psychotherapy services to individuals, couples, and families in the greater Dodge County area.
