2017 Vehicle Sales Outpacing Last Years Numbers

6/30/17 – Vehicle sales in the region so far this year are outpacing last years numbers. According to the Waterloo-based, auto industry tracking firm Reg Trak, there have been 1439 vehicle sales to date in Dodge County, a 5.7% increase from the 1361 sold by this time last year. Truck sales were up nearly 10% with car sales down by just over 7%. Columbia County sales in the first five months of 2017 were up nearly 15% with 1060 vehicles sold compared to 925 in 2016. Truck sales in Columbia County were up over 21% compared to last year while car sales were down nearly 6%. Jefferson County had 1% fewer vehicles roll off the lot by the end of last month with 1052 sold, eleven less than last year. For the nine-county, south central Wisconsin region as a whole, vehicle sales are up 9.6% so far this year with 18,700 sold compared to around 17,000 by this time last year. Car sales in the region are up 3.4% while truck sales are surging to a 12.5% increase.
