(Portage) Authorities in Columbia County apprehended two 13-year-old’s and three 14-year-old’s in a stolen car. The Dane County Sheriff’s Office was tracking the stolen 2017 Ford Fusion with GPS when it was located on State Highway 16-51 around 2:45pm Friday afternoon. When law enforcement attempted to stop the vehicle, a short pursuit took place. The 13-year-old driver reached speeds of approximately 95-miles-per-hour before voluntarily stopping just south of the Portage city limits. The five teenage boys were taken into custody at the scene. There were no injuries. The roadway was briefly closed as the subjects were taken into custody. The stolen vehicle remains under investigation by the Dane County Sheriff’s Office. Names of the juveniles are being withheld. The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Dane County Sheriff’s Office, Portage Police Department and Blystones Towing.
