$100K Bond Set For Beaver Dam Man Accused Of Threatening Fiancée

(Beaver Dam) Cash bond was set at $100-thousand-dollars Monday for a Beaver Dam man accused of threatening his fiancée with deadly weapons. Christopher French is facing a felony count of False Imprisonment and Threats to Injure as well as a misdemeanor count of Battery and Disorderly Conduct. Beaver Dam police were contacted last Friday to conduct a welfare check. When they interviewed the victim, she reportedly said that French had hit her multiple times on multiple occasionsThe victim went on, allegedly saying that French held a knife to her throatHe then reportedly got a handgun, straddled the victim, pointed the weapon at her temple, and said if she were to leave him, he would kill her. French allegedly added that if he did not get the chance to kill her, he would hunt her for the rest of his life. According to the criminal complaint, when French was questioned by authorities, he was of the impression the victim was interrogated by the police and coerced into making accusations against him. If convicted, the 31-year-old faces over 12 years behind bars. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for December 16th.
