8/10/17 – A McFarland woman who sparked a pursuit with Waupun police while under the influence of cold medicines has entered into a plea agreement with Dodge County prosecutors. Kathryn Brown was initially charged felony Fleeing an Officer but pled yesterday to a reduced misdemeanor count of Failing To Stop. Officers attempted to stop Brown for driving ten miles above the speed limit in March, but she kept driving. The 62-year-old reached speeds of up to 70-miles-per-hour before a tire deflation device was deployed near Brownsville. After her tires were flattened, police boxed her car in. Authorities found 18 empty bottles of cough medicine in her vehicle that had all been purchased within three weeks’ time. Brown was placed on probation for one year and must maintain sobriety from drugs, alcohol and over the counter medications.
