William J. Schulze, age 87, of Horicon, died peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at Clearview Nursing and Rehabilitation in Juneau.
The visitation will be at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Saturday, January 12, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. The John E. Miller American Legion Post #146 is invited to pay their respects at 10:50 a.m. and the funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Cherie Forret officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery.
William John Schulze was born on November 20, 1931 in Clear Lake, Wisconsin to Harold and Anna Grace (Haima) Schulze. He honorably served during the Korean War in the United States Air Force and was a member of the American Legion Post #146. William worked for John Deere Horicon Works for 37 years as a tool and die maker. On October 20, 1956, he was united in marriage with Genevieve McCarty in Columbus, OH. They enjoyed traveling together and visited all 50 states. Bill took pride in manicuring his lawn and enjoyed helping out at his neighbor’s farm. His time with his children and grandchildren was his most cherished.
William is survived his children, Joan (Steve) Lohr of Campbellsport, Lori (Mike) Schultz of Burnett, and Sharon Manor of Sun Prairie; grandchildren, Matthew (Joelle) Lohr, Stephanie Lohr, Brian Schultz, Megan Manor and Madeline Manor; one great granddaughter, Lydia Lohr; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Genevieve; and grandson, Nicholas Schultz.
Memorials may be made in William Schulze’s name to John E. Miller American Legion Post #146.
