3/17/16 – The reconstruction of James Street in Columbus is now in week two. Department of Transportation crews have removed terrace trees along the mile-and-a-quarter route. During the first stage of the major street redo, the stretch of road between River Road and Ludington Street is closed. The DOT is planning replacement trees, smaller terraces, bike lanes and wider, ADA-compliant sidewalks along roadway. Maps and signage that will make it easier for customers to visit Columbus businesses along Highways 16-60 through the city are being posted.
