Wausau Man Leads Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Deputies On High Speed Chase

(Rosendale) A Wausau man led Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s deputies on a high speed chase Saturday afternoon. Around 6:25pm a deputy attempted a vehicle stop on State Highway 23 near County Highway KK in the Township of Rosendale for a speeding violation. The driver, and lone occupant, disregarded the deputy’s visual and audio signals to stop and continued westbound on Highway 23. The 30-year-old man was allegedly clocked going 110 miles-per-hour and was observed passing multiple vehicles in a reckless manner. The pursuit spanned five miles before the driver stopped and was taken into custody without incident. The suspect was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant, fleeing an officer and was cited for possessing open intoxicants in the vehicle. There was no injuries or property damage reported during the incident.
