(Waupun) The American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation recently recognized Waupun Memorial Hospital by certifying their Cardiac Rehab program. Cardiac rehabilitation programs are designed to help people with cardiovascular concerns such as heart attacks or who have had coronary artery bypass graft surgery, as well as people with pulmonary issues like chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, also known as COPD, recover faster and improve their quality of life. Both programs include exercise, education, counseling, and support for patients and their families.
Diane Posthuma, Director of Outpatient Services at Waupun Memorial Hospital says that this certification is a testimony to the high standards and quality at the base of their program and to the commitment of their wonderful staff who are passionate about helping patients safely achieve all that they can after a cardiac event.
American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation certified programs are recognized as leaders in the field of cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitation because they offer the most advanced practices available. The certification remains in effect for 3 years.
