Waupun Memorial Hospital Donating Funds To Help Construct All-Abilities Playground

(Waupun) Waupun Memorial Hospital is helping a local parent’s led group complete work on an all-abilities playground. Access 4 Recess started a fund-raising campaign to build the playground at the Rock River Intermediate School in Waupun for student’s grades two to six. Their efforts raised $7,000 in just the first three hours. The all-abilities playground’s largest cost will be poured rubber which makes it accessible for every ability. A donation of $44,000 from Waupun Memorial Hospital, as a member of Agnesian HealthCare and Agnesian HealthCare Foundation, will help Access 4 Recess complete the poured rubber footing. Agnesian HealthCare Foundation President Holly Brenner says they appreciate the opportunity to help make a difference in the lives of families within the Waupun Community who will benefit from this special playground. She adds that this new playground will expand the focus of all standard playgrounds to allow children with special needs to experience the gift of play alongside other children. Last summer, the Waupun Memorial Hospital Medical Staff also donated $2,500 to help support Access 4 Recess efforts. Donations can be sent to Education Service Center, 950 Wilcox Street, Waupun WI 53963. Checks may be made out to WASD, with Access 4 Recess in the memo field.
