Waupun Man Seriously Injured In Fond du Lac County Crash

(Waupun) A Waupun man was seriously injured in a two-vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon in Fond du Lac County. The crash occurred on State Highway 49 in the Town of Alto around 3:45pm. Authorities say a pickup driven by Robert Greenfield was slowing to turn into a driveway when he was struck from behind by a northbound vehicle. The jaws-of-life were needed to remove the 56-year-old from the pickup and he was transported by Flight For Life to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah. Greenfield was wearing a seatbelt but the driver of the pickup that struck him from behind was not. Kyle Zimdars of Brandon was cited for Inattentive Driving and Following To Close. The incident resulted in the closure of State Highway 49 between County AS and Amity Road for one hour.
