Waupun Man Sentenced To Prison For Running From Beaver Dam Police

(Beaver Dam) A Waupun man was sentenced to four years in prison Thursday for running from police during a traffic stop in Beaver Dam in May of 2017. Kory Forrest pled no contest to one felony count of Fleeing an Officer and Operating with a Prohibited Alcohol Concentration fourth offense. Beaver Dam police officers pulled over Forrest and say they smelt a strong odor of intoxicants coming from inside the vehicle. As the officer returned to his squad car to call for backup, Forrest fled from the scene at speeds of up to 100mph. Police deployed a tire deflation device which disabled Forrest’s vehicle on County Road A just north of County Road B. The 30-year-old fled on foot and was eventually caught in a nearby farm field. In addition to prison Forrest was placed on extended supervision for two years.
