10/19/17 – A Waupun man was sentenced to two-and-half-years in prison Thursday for breaking into a house to steal money and jewelry. In August, Joshua Gierach pled guilty to one felony count of Burglary of a Building or Dwelling. Gierach told officers he did take and pawn jewelry from the State Street home but denied stealing $800 in cash. The 24-year-old said he was under the influence at the time of the July burglary. Gierach must also serve five years of extended supervision when released from prison and pay $2500 dollars in restitution to the victim.
