Waupun Man Accused Of Running From Police

4/11/17 – A Waupun man had cash bond set at $2500 dollars Monday for leading police on a high-speed chase. Connor Bruesch is charged with felony count of Attempting to Flee or Elude a Traffic Officer and felony Bail Jumping. A Waupun police officer tried to make contact with Bruesch on Saturday after noticing the vehicle had its headlights off. Prosecutors say that when the officer approached the car, Bruesch sped off at speeds in excess of 65 miles-per-hour in a 25 mile-per-hour residential area. As the chase continued, the vehicle repeatedly slowed and the passenger door would open before speeding off again. Eventually the 20-year-old Bruesch pulled the car over and a female passenger exited the vehicle. She informed police that she was fearful for her life and asked Bruesch to let her out. If convicted on all counts, Bruesch could face over nine years in prison. A judge will decide next week of there is enough evidence to order a trial.
