Waupun Correctional Inmate Pleads Insanity In Battery

4/12/17 – A plea of “not guilty by reason of insanity” was entered for a former Waupun Correctional Institute inmate Tuesday. Terrance Grissom, who is now being housed at Winnebago, is charged with felony Battery by Prisoners for allegedly attacking a correctional officer last April. Grissom was being restrained while visiting a recreational room. When a correctional officer was removing the restraints, the 47-year-old Grissom reportedly struck the officer in the mouth. At the prosecution’s request, the judge ordered that an examiner be appointed and the results of the evaluation will be disclosed at a status conference, which is scheduled in June.
