Waukesha Man Arraigned For High Speed Pursuit in Dodge County

7/21/17 – A Waukesha man accused of fleeing from police near Hustisford over Memorial Day weekend was arraigned yesterday. James Bultynck entered a not guilty plea to one felony count of Attempting To Elude a Traffic Officer. On May 27, Dodge County deputies noticed a group of motorcycles heading southbound on Mill Street. The deputy attempted to make contact with the lead biker but he allegedly accelerated off at a high rate of speed. According the criminal complaint, the deputy chased the biker for over a mile at speeds in excess of 100 mph. The pursuit was called off but police officers in Hartford later apprehended Bultynck. The 31-year-old told authorities that he did not see the cop trying to stop him. Bultynck refused to take a field sobriety test at the scene. The officer reported that the suspects eyes were bloodshot and he could detect a strong odor of intoxicants so a warrant was issued and a mandatory blood draw was taken. If convicted, Bultynck faces over three years in prison.
