Watertown Man Accused Of Selling Drugs At Bar

7/19/17 – A Watertown man is accused of selling illegal drugs at a bar. Luis Rivera is facing one felony count of Possession with Intent To Sell Cocaine and a misdemeanor charge of Possession of Cocaine. In March, a Watertown Police Officer received a tip that Rivera was at Dew Drop Bar located on 1027 North Fourth Street dealing cocaine. When the officer arrived he searched the 27-year-old and allegedly found a golf ball size bag containing a white powdery substance. According to the criminal complaint, Rivera said that he had been “caught red handed with cocaine” during the booking process. He later told investigators that the cocaine was reportedly giving to him by an acquaintance to sell at the tavern. The bag did test positive for cocaine and weighed over 23 grams.  If convicted, Rivera faces over 25 years in prison. His initial appearance is set for later this month.
