Warrant Issued For Beaver Dam Woman Who Skipped Court

8/24/17 – An arrest warrant has been issued for a Beaver Dam woman accused of injuring her significant other during an altercation. Ana Bretado was due in court for her arraignment hearing yesterday but she never showed up. She is facing one felony count of Injury by Negligent use of a Weapon and three misdemeanor charges of Battery, Criminal Damage to Property, and Disorderly Conduct. According to prosecutors, Beaver Dam police were dispatched to the hospital to speak with Bretado who told them her husband became combative when she handed him divorce papers. The 29-year-old reportedly said he struck her several times in the head and when he was attempting to leave she grabbed a kitchen knife to slash the vehicles tires. When investigators met with the husband he denied hitting Bretado and said that she came at him with the knife so he restrained her to prevent being stabbed. The husband was also arrested for domestic battery. If convicted, Bretado faces up to three-and-a-half years in prison.
