Vehicle Sales Outpacing Last Years Numbers

9/30/17 – Vehicle sales so far this year are outpacing last year’s numbers. According to the Waterloo-based industry tracking Reg Trak, there have been nearly 2400 car and light truck sales in Dodge County in the first eight months of the year, 80 more than last year by this time for an increase of 3.5-percent. Car sales in Dodge County were actually down six-percent but truck sales were up by six-percent. In Columbia County, year-to-date auto sales were up over 13-percent with 1800 vehicles rolling off lots through the end of August, over 200 more than the same time period in 2016. Car sales in Columbia County were down nine-percent while truck sales were up over 20-percent. Jefferson County dealers also sold around 1800 vehicles, which was around 40 more than last year by this time for an increase of around two-percent. Car and truck sales in Jefferson County were both up by around two-percent. For the nine-county, south central Wisconsin region, there were 31-thousand-500 vehicles sold, 2000 more than by this time last year, a 6.5-percent increase. Truck sales in the region were up 8-percent while car sales increased by just less than 2-percent.
