Uncontested Races, Open Ballots In Villages Races

2/27/17 – There are very few contested villages races on local ballots this April but there are a couple races without enough candidates. Hustisford Village President Dennis Uecker is not seeking re-election this spring and there is no one on the ballot to replace him.  Bob Knueppel, Michael Grant, and Josh Prescher are all seeking another term as trustees. In Reeseville, Village President Brian Miller and Trustees Lee Brasch and Margaret Schmidt are seeking new terms.  A third trustee seat, which is currently vacant, has no candidates running.  Meanwhile, there are not a lot of contested races in local villages.  In the Village of Lowell, all three incumbents are running again and without opposition. That includes Chet Caine and Bob Kline to the two trustee positions and Jerome Straseske for village president. Theresa’s Village President George Marsh and Trustees Herman Koenigs Jr. and Jody Steger are running for re-election.  Trustee Gene Koll filed non-candidacy for his seat.  James Polster Jr. is unopposed in his bid to fill Koll’s seat.   In Lomira, Village President Tony Schraufnagel is running for re-election. Meg Joas, Daniel Davis, and Ashley Gasner are running for three trustee positions. In Randolph, there are no contested races.  Village President James Boomsma and Village Trustees Shannon Greeno, Richard Nieman, and Jaime Woreck are seeking re-election.  It is the same story in Cambria where Village President Glen Williams and Trustees Peggy Carlson, Marvin Stringfeld, and Jim Williams are seeking another term.  In Friesland, Village Trustees Ronald Alsum and Charlotte Holtan are unopposed in their re-election bids.  Four Brownsville seats are on the spring ballot.  Village President Jeffrey Bloohm and Trustees Timothy Kimmel and Jeffrey Westphal all have no challengers.  Iron Ridge’s Village President Brian Esselman and Trustees Andrew Rohlinger and Mark Kramer are all unopposed in their re-election bids. Rio’s Village President James Olrick and Trustee Beth Laufenberg are both running without opposition.  Two other trustee positions are also up this spring.  Joanne Dilley and Terry Milfred filed non-candidacy.  Jon Landsverk is running for one of those open seats while nobody has shown interest in the other one.
