Two Watertown Children Succumb To Injuries From Accident

8/15/17 – Two children have succumbed to injuries sustained in a two-vehicle accident that happened Saturday morning in the Town of Elba. Three-year-old Brady Wojtkiewicz and seven-year-old Landon Wojtkiewicz were passengers in a minivan driven by 41-year-old Jeffrey Wojtkiewicz of Watertown, who was not seriously injured and refused treatment at the scene. His northbound minivan failed to stop at a stop sign on County Highway TT and collided with a cargo van that was westbound on State Highway 16-60. Brady and Landon were flown from the scene to UW Hospital in Madison where sheriff’s officials said this morning that they later died of their injuries. A five-year-old child, whose name is not being released, suffered serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to Madison. Thirty-six-year-old Gabrielle Wojtkiewicz was also seriously injured and was taken to Summit Hospital in Oconomowoc. The driver of the cargo van, 91-year-old Otho Wollenzein of Waukesha and his passenger, 70-year-old Maria Jakab of Waukesha, were both seriously injured and were taken to UW Hospital in Madison. The accident remains under investigation.
