Two Killed In New Year’s Eve Town of Emmet Crash

(Town of Emmet) Two people were killed in a three-vehicle accident Sunday evening in the Town of Emmet. The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened at 5:37pm when a GMC Jimmy was traveling eastbound in the westbound lane of County Highway R. The GMC struck a westbound Ford Ranger head-on, just east of County Highway EM. A westbound Chevrolet Trailblazer then struck both vehicles. The woman driving the GMC Jimmy and the man driving the Ford Ranger were both pronounced dead at the scene by the Dodge County Medical Examiner. There were no other passengers in either of those vehicles but there were three passengers in the Trailblazer; all three sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Aurora Medical Center in Summit. The names of those involved are being withheld pending notification of next of kin. County Highway R between Schofield Road and County Highway EM was closed for several hours.
