Two dodge county coaches have made it to the second round of a nationwide contest. Beaver Dam Girls basketball coach Tim Chase and Dodgeland Track and Cross country coach Kevin Klueger were announced Thursday afternoon as the top 15 finalists for the US Cellular Most Valuable Coach Program. The top coaches were selected based on the positive impacts they have on their players, school and city as well as their leadership qualities. Chase has over seven-percent of the voting, good for fifth place, while Klueger has four-and-a-half-percent which places him at 12th. Fans now have until November 13 to vote for their favorite coach on www.TheMostValuableCoach.com.
The final 15 coaches will be receiving $5-thousand dollars to their schools. The three finalists will receive donations of $10-thousand, $20-thousand and $50-thousand dollars respectively. The first place coach will also be awarded a Samsung tech prize package valued at $30-thousand dollars. The winners will be announced on November 20.
