Tillie Vant Hoff

Tillie Vant Hoff, age 93, formerly of Friesland passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2018, at the Randolph Health Services.

Tillie was born November 2, 1924, a daughter of Joseph and Jennie (Havinga) Kloostra. Tillie was 7 ½ years old when her mother passed away. She was then raised by her step-mother, Rena (Smits) Kloostra. Tillie was united in marriage to Marvin James Vant Hoff on September 30, 1948, in Friesland. They lived in Waupun for 1 ½ years then moved to Friesland where they farmed until Marvin’s death on April 14, 1961. She then worked at the Cambria-Friesland School as a cook, Koplin Products, Fox Lake where she sewed gun cases and National Rivet, Waupun, where she sorted rivets.

Tillie was a member of the First Reformed Church in Friesland. She loved to garden, cook and bake. She was especially known for her chocolate chip cookies which she loved to share with her children, other relatives and friends. She also loved to do puzzles. She had a great love for her Lord and Savior and her family.

Tillie is survived by her three children, Kenneth (Katherine) Vant Hoff, Cambria; Jerry (Denise) Vant Hoff, Friesland; Donna (William) Mohr, Portage; five grandchildren, Tara, Darrin, Jodi, Nathan and Amanda; 8 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Esther Vander Woude and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; parents, Joseph and Jennie; step-mother, Rena; infant sister, Jessie; brothers, Herman, Leonard, John, Peter and Edward; infant grandchildren, Kathryn and Aaron.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at First Reformed Church, 107 E. Winnebago Street, Friesland.

A funeral service for Tillie will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at First Reformed Church, Friesland with Rev. Rob Ford officiating. Burial will take place at Friesland Cemetery. Memorial fund had been established to Friesland First Reformed Church and the Beaver Dam Hillside Hospice.
