Three-Way Race Shaping Up For Ward Two Beaver Dam Alderperson

12/30/17 – There could be a three-way aldermanic race in the city of Beaver Dam. Tuesday is the deadline for candidates to register with their local municipality to run the spring election. Brian Wood is the most recent potential candidate to file Declaration of Candidacy paperwork with the city clerk indicating his intentions to run in Ward Two. Therese Henriksen has also filed a Declaration of Candidacy with the city clerk for the Ward Two seat held by Mary Flaherty, who is also circulating papers. None of the candidates in Ward Two at last word have filed their completed nomination packet. It looks like there will be a contested race in Beaver Dam’s Ward 12, where former Alderwoman Donna Maly and incumbent Dan Doyle have filed all the necessary paperwork. Alderpersons in even-numbered wards in Beaver Dam are up for election in April. Incumbents currently facing no opposition in Beaver Dam are: Christopher Olson, Ken Anderson, Jane Loizzo, Kara Nelson and Mary Morgan. Meanwhile, Beaver Dam Ward 13 Alderman Kevin Burnett has filed Declaration of Candidacy papers to run for an open seat on the Dodge County Board. Burnett is the only known candidate currently circulating papers for the Beaver Dam-area District 31 seat held by Glenn Stousland, who filed notification of non-candidacy paperwork earlier this month.
