Four Killed In Three Separate Fond du Lac County Crashes

(Fond du Lac County) UPDATED: It was a deadly weekend in Fond du Lac County where snow-covered roads are being blamed for the deaths of four people killed in three separate motor vehicle accidents. On Saturday morning, Patsy Knight of Markesan died in a two-vehicle crash near Brandon. The 77-year-old was a passenger in a car driven by 50-year-old Rebecca Knight of Sheboygan that crossed the center line on State Highway 44 and struck a pickup truck with a plow that was driven by 52-year-old Louis Smith of Markesan. Patsy Knight, who was initially pinned inside the vehicle, later died at Ripon Medical Center. Both drivers sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Two people were killed Saturday afternoon on State Highway 49 near Waupun.  Fifty-six-year-old Daniel Emmer and his passenger, 27-year-old Brian Emmer, died at the scene after their vehicle crossed the center line and struck an oncoming vehicle driven by 43-year-old Amy Huenink of Brandon. She and her passenger, 14-year-old Haley Huenink, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Fond du Lac County’s third fatal accident happened Saturday evening on Highway 23 in the Town of Rosendale. Rickey Allen of Lyndon Station died after his vehicle crossed the centerline and struck an oncoming vehicle head-on. The 34-year-old Allen died at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center. Both occupants of the other vehicle were treated and released: the driver, 22-year-old Jacob Baus of Mount Calvary and passenger 22-year-old Colleen Elzinga of Evergreen Park, Illinois.
