Three Injured In Beaver Dam Apartment Fire

3/2/17 – Three people were injured after fire swept through a Beaver Dam apartment complex Thursday afternoon. Crews responded to 112 Lake Crest Drive over the noon hour. Captain Paul Hartl says upon arrival flames were visible from one side of the structure and trapped residents could be seen trying to escape from a window. Hartl says one woman was taken to safety from the second floor while another woman was rescued while scaling down the side of the building. Those injured were transported to the hospital with apparent non-life-threatening injuries. All residents were evacuated and bussed to the Watermark Community and Senior Center on South Center Street, where the Red Cross is assisting those displaced. School District Liaison Officer Lisa Dake-Jones is coordinating an effort to have any students who live in the apartment complex to be directed to the Watermark. No word yet on the cause of the fire which remains under investigation.
