4/18/17 – The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that threats were made to the Waupun High School via social media occurring late last night and into the early morning hours. Two students were messaging through the app Snap Chat when a 15-year-old who resides in the Waupun School District sent a threatening message wishing to do harm to the school. The other student in the exchange was concerned and sought help with the situation. Police located the student at home and interviewed him, determining a threat did take place but the means to carry out the threat was not substantiated. School Superintendent Tonya Gubin says that the student has been placed on an out of school suspension pending the investigation and is not allowed on school grounds until further notice. She says that all school activities have resumed as normal but adds that classroom doors will be locked and tighter restrictions on the time students have in the halls will be in place throughout the day.
