Tavern Dance License Approved For Ooga Brewing Company

(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam Common Council Monday night approved a tavern dance license for the new Ooga Brewing Company, which is expected to open in coming months. Director of Administration John Somers says that the dance license is the only license the city will have to approve for the South Spring Street business because the state issues liquor licenses for breweries. When asked by alderpersons, Somers confirmed that just because the state issues the liquor license, the establishment would still be governed by the city’s Demerit Point Ordinance which could suspend or revoke the liquor license of any bar that violates the law.
