Talks Continue On Where To Place Sex Offender

7/15/17 – A Dodge County hearing was held yesterday regarding the release of a convicted high-risk sex offender. Both the state and the county are working together to find suitable housing for Robert Larson Jr., who is currently at the Sand Ridge Secure Treatment Center in Mauston. One of the potential locations that was discussed was a residence belonging to a relative of Larson Jr.’s in a rural area of Richland County. Larson Jr. says while he is not opposed to moving he would prefer to stay in Dodge County if a space opened up. Last year, the 59-year-old was to be placed at N1701 Neuberger Road in the Town of Lowell along with another high-risk sex offender but the house was taken off the market before the state could make the purchase. A review hearing to further discuss the matter is scheduled for August 14.
