State Attorney Says Meth Problem Is Spreading

5/10/17 – State Attorney General Brad Schimel says for years the methamphetamine epidemic was a problem mostly confined to the northwestern part of the state, but is slowly becoming a problem in other parts of the state. Schimel says the odd thing is people addicted to opiates are starting to turn to meth as a cheaper high and because it doesn’t’ cause the overdose deaths that opioids do. He says unfortunately it is more addictive and causes more damage to your body. Schimel made his comments during a public safety round table in Fond du Lac.
