9/16/17 – The annual Sorghum Festival is being held today at Savanna Oaks Community Center in Fall River. The event features a wide variety of activities for both kids and adults, including music, food and a car show. Organizer Dennis Buchda says sorghum has become a forgotten commodity in modern society. There is also a variety of children’s activities including face painting, crafts, clowns and a bounce house. There is also an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast, a tailgate-style lunch, flea market and music by the Driftless Bluegrass Band. Free samples of sorghum cookies will be handed out while supplies last and there will be demonstrations on sorghum processing and jars available for purchase. Sorghum Fest is held at Savannah Oaks Community Center on Highway 16 and Savanna Road.
