Sharon was a member of the Horicon High School graduating class of 1962. During high school she enjoyed participating in pep and marching bands playing clarinet and singing in chorus and glee club and later continued sharing those talents by singing in church choir.
Her employment career consisted of working at AC Nielsen, Fond du Lac, Kiekaffer’s and Three Sister’s, both of Beaver Dam, John Deere and Marlin’s – Toy Division, both of Horicon, Beaver Theatre and J.C. Penny, both of Beaver Dam – retiring May 15, 2004 from J.C. Penny as their cash room auditor.
In her younger years she volunteered as a Sunday school and vacation bible school teacher and her artistic abilities allowed her to lead many art & craft workshops and projects when requested.
She will be remembered by many in the area for her amateur award winning flower arrangements and her service to the Dodge County Fair as its Floriculture Department Superintendent from1978 through 1990. She enjoyed being a member of the Visitor and Hospitality Committee for the 1991 City of Beaver Dam Sesquicentennial and planning the events for special quests and the general public that attended.
She also enjoyed every aspect of nature and all of God’s creations that were available for observation on a daily basis.
She loved both ocean and river cruises; traveling in the United States; the Mexican Riviera; Provinces of Canada; the Caribbean; Mexico; Europe and day trips to area attractions and casinos. She enjoyed reading and spent countless hours caring for her vegetable and flower gardens.
In earlier days she enjoyed cooking and baking and entertaining for special events and holidays.
No matter how difficult, she could always find good in every situation and individual and would always put everyone’s needs first and think of what she might need for herself last.
Sharon was her family’s Go-to-Gal, always ready to listen, give opinions and suggestions when asked and assist in fulfilling their goals and ideas in as many ways as possible. Meeting the needs of her family and loved ones were of utmost importance to her and she cherished the happy times spent with them.
