(Hubbard) Both lanes of Highway 33 needed to be shut down Thursday morning following a semi versus semi crash in the town of Hubbard. The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office responded to the intersection of Highway 33 at the intersection of Highway TW shortly after 9:30am. The preliminary investigation indicates Alajandro Alfaro of Elgin, Illinois was operating a 1999 Peterbilt north on Highway TW. The 31-year-old failed to stop at the stop sign and struck a 2016 Freightliner driven by 58-year-old Royce Shultis of Reedsburg. Alfaro was transported to Beaver Dam Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The eastbound lane was reopened by 10:30am, the westbound lane remains closed until removal of the semis is complete. While the crash remains under investigation, Sheriff Dale Schmidt says heavy fog is believed to be a factor. Assisting at the scene was the Horicon Fire and Police Department as well as Horicon EMS, Mayville Police Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, the Dodge County Emergency Response Team and the Dodge County Highway Department.
