(Beaver Dam) There will be a special screening Tuesday of a romantic comedy movie starring Fred MacMurray. No Time For Love will be shown at the Beaver Dam Community Library. MacMurray grew up in Beaver Dam and stars in the 1943 film alongside Claudette Colbert. Local historian Roger Noll says MacMurray plays a construction worker on one of New York City’s subway while Colbert plays a high-profile photographer. Noll says the pair spars throughout the film and the ultimate question is whether the oil and water couple ever get together. He says MacMurray and Colbert made a total of seven movies together and are one of the great romantic couples of that era. Noll shared a little-known fact about MacMurray when he was our guest recently on WBEV’s Community Comment. He says MacMurray’s face was used to design the superhero Captain Marvel. The screening at the Beaver Dam Community Library begins at 5:30pm tomorrow beginning with the airing of a 1963 episode of the Andy Williams Show featuring Fred MacMurray. No Time For Love follows at 6:30pm.
