Robert “Rob” Hemling

Robert J. Hemling, age 39 of Randolph, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, due to a work accident.

Rob was born on February 9, 1979, in Beaver Dam, a son of Randy and Kathy (Alsum) Hemling. In 1997, he graduated from Randolph High School. On August 8, 2015, he was united in marriage to Megan Boomsma at the Bethany Presbyterian Church in Randolph, WI. Rob started working for the Wisconsin & Southern Railroad right out of high school and later worked for the Canadian Pacific Railroad as a conductor.  He was a hard worker and made friends wherever he went. Rob was a handy man and helped anyone he could. He loved people and had a hug and a smile for everyone.  His girls and his family were his life and he had a strong love for the Lord.

Rob is survived by his wife, Megan; his two daughters, Madelynn and Savannah; parents, Randy and Kathy Hemling of Beaver Dam; his siblings, Rachel (Corey) Bradley of Beaver Dam, Andy (Shelly) Hemling of Randolph and Aleshia (Clint) Redeker of Randolph; parents-in-law, Terry and Betty Boomsma of Beaver Dam; a sister-in-law, Tara (Justin) Kienast of Burnett; grandmothers, Evelyn Schumacher of Randolph and Lucy (Gordon) Braaksma of Randolph; a step-grandmother, Deb Stiemsma of Randolph; nieces and nephews, Cole, Brandi, Hunter, Emma, Griffin, Paisley, Aidan, Kate, Alayna, Taylor, Brody, Kaiden and Sam; aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by three grandfathers, Rodney Schumacher, Bernard Hemling and Roy Alsum and grandparents-in-law, Geraldine and Louis Stiemsma.

Visitation for Rob will be held on Monday, April 2, 2018, from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M.  and on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at First Reformed Church, 406 South High Street, Randolph.

A funeral service for Rob will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at church with Pastor Linda Heisler officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been directed towards Rob’s family.
