Rita A. Knueppel

Rita A. Knueppel (nee Hagen) age 92 of Hartford, Wisconsin (formerly Iron Ridge) passed away peacefully Saturday, September 22, 2018 at the Waterford at Hartford.

Rita was born May 30, 1926 in the Town of Herman in Dodge County to Thecla (nee Becker) and Carl Hagen.  She was united in marriage to Eddie Knueppel on June 14, 1947 in Neosho. She worked on the family farm alongside her husband until his passing in 1996. She continued working on the farm all she could to assist her son Randy. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, embroidery and had a fondness of cats.

Rita is survived by her loving children, Kenneth of Jackson, Sharon of Iron Ridge, Robert (Cheryl) Knueppel of Hustisford,  Sandra (Gerald) Uecker of Mayville, Randy of Iron Ridge, and Ricky (Michele)  Knueppel of Verona; cherished grandchildren, Tiffany (Jeff) Bottoni, Kayla Knueppel, Angela (fiancé, Don Schaefer), Tammy Uecker, Melissa (Tony) Pieper, Shawn (Amy) Uecker, Keaton and Kallie Knueppel; cherished great-grandchildren, Nolan Bottoni, Brianna Schaefer, Bryanna Brace, Allisa Pieper, and Greyson Uecker; dear siblings, Corrine (Milton) Roll, Charles (June) Hagen,  Ann (Walter) Beine, Mary Joan (William) Klink, Mardell (Ray) Roskopf, and Jerome (Dorothy) Hagen, and sister-in-law, Arlene Hagen. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other loved relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband of 50 years, Eddie; dear brothers, Gerald and Gene Hagen; and several siblings-in-law.

A Funeral Service for Rita will be held Thursday, September 27, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home (824 Union Street Hartford, WI 53027). Family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 11:30a.m.-1:30p.m.
