11/8/17 – The ribbon will be cut at two new Dodge County Blue Zone’s-approved businesses in the next week. The Blue Zones Project is a community-led well-being improvement initiative designed to make healthier choices easier by encouraging simple changes to environment, policy and social networks. A ribbon-cutting celebration will be held Thursday at 5pm at The Barrel House restaurant on East Oak Street in Juneau. The Barrel House is offering healthier options including their signature burger in a smaller sized portion served with a side salad, mixed vegetables, or carrots. On Monday at 10am, Inter-Quest in Beaver Dam will be celebrated as the newest worksite to become Blue Zones-Approved. The information-technology company formed an employee-led wellness committee that meets regularly to discuss and implement well-being practices in the worksite that encourages walking, biking and standing desks at work stations.
