Reeseville Man Given Jail Time For High Speed Chase

(Beaver Dam) A Reeseville man was sentenced to 45 days in jail with work release privileges Tuesday for leading deputies on a high-speed chase early New Year’s Day. William Pace entered a no contest plea to one felony count of Fleeing or Eluding an Officer. A Dodge County Sheriff’s deputy spotted Pace driving 70-miles-per-hour in a 25-mile-per-hour zone on North Spring Street in Beaver Dam. When the deputy attempted a traffic stop, Pace took off and drove at speeds over 90-miles-per-hour for roughly four miles before he came to stop near Cooper Street. Pace told authorities he ran because he had been drinking and did not have a license.  The 21-year-old blew a point-zero-four (.04) during a preliminary breath test. In addition to jail, Pace was placed on probation for 18 months.
