RECIPE: 04/23/19 BEAVER DAM PIGGLY WIGGLY

Crock Pot BBQ Ribs

4 lbs. bone-in country style pork ribs

2 tsp. salt, divided

1 medium onion, chopped

1 tsp. minced garlic

½ c. firmly packed brown sugar

1 c. apple butter

1 c. ketchup

½ c. lemon juice

½ c. orange juice

2 Tbsp. A-l® Steak Sauce

Cut the ribs apart if necessary, trim off fat and bones, cutting into large 3-4” chunks. Sprinkle 1 tsp. salt evenly over pork chunks and set aside. In large mixing bowl, stir together the remaining salt and all remaining ingredients. Pour half of the sauce mixture into a 3-5 quart crock pot. Place the ribs into the crock pot and pour the remaining sauce over the ribs. Cover and cook on HIGH for 6-7 hours. Recipe is also good prepared with boneless beef short ribs instead of pork.
