(Juneau) A public hearing is planned next month to discuss proposed amendments to the Dodge County Comprehensive Plan as it relates to the recently-announced Alliant Energy Commerce Park. The changes would re-designate the parcels of land inside the 520-acre business park from single-family residential to industrial and from agricultural to a non-agricultural development. Dodge County Land Resources and Parks Department Director Nate Olson says the changes would not re-zone the parcels but rather amend a land use map within the Comprehensive Plan that designates land use for the future. Olson says the space had been pre-determined for industrial use since 2006 in comprehensive plans for both the township and the county. The public hearing will be on November 5 beginning at 7pm at the Administration Building in Juneau. The Dodge County Planning Committee would then have to make a recommendation to the county board, who would then vote on the matter during their December meeting.
