Potential Housing In Mayville For Sex Offender

8/29/17 – Interim Police Chief Ryan Vossekuil provided an update on the Chapter 980 sex offender, Robert Larson Jr.’s, potential placement in the city of Mayville. The police chief said Monday night that the residency housing report is complete and has been submitted to the Department of Health Services. The Mayville police department received the request from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services to conduct an investigation into a potential housing option in the city of Mayville. They completed the investigation and have officially submitted it back to the state. The report comes after Larson said in a hearing earlier in the month that one of the housing options that fit the criteria for placement would be located near Mayville. The details of the report have yet to be released but Vossekuil noted that once the circuit court met there would be further information. The interim police chief says that details are limited due to it being an open investigation. Once the hearing is complete though more information can be given to the public. Vossekuil said that the next step will be a court hearing on Friday at noon to look at the results of the investigation. The police chief will have further updates following the hearing.
