Portage Burglary, Sexual Assault Suspect Released To Group Home

(Portage) A Portage teenager has been released to a group home while he waits for his trial on burglary and sexual assault charges. Eighteen-year-old Matthew Krumpos has been found competent to stand trial by a Columbia County judge. He is accused of breaking into one home in Portage in mid-April. Police then received another complaint five days later from a man reporting he found Krumpos in bed with his 13-year-old daughter. The girl told police they had sex about nine times before her father caught them. Krumpos is scheduled to return to court for a preliminary hearing July 19th.
