Plans For Mayville’s New Library Progressing

(Mayville) The Mayville Common Council was recently provided an update on the progress of a new public library. Alderperson Gene Frings who sits on the Library building committee says they have started working on requests for proposals to be sent out to various architects. The new structure will be located on John Street directly behind the Mayville Limestone School Museum. The goal for the project is have it completely paid for by donated funds. In January, Ted and Grace Bachhuber donated $1-million dollars to the cause of brining a more advanced library to Mayville. City officials hope to see the structure develop into a community center that offers a wide-variety of services. Frings says the goal is to have a design proposal finished within the next couple months. Once the plans are finalized additional fund raising efforts will began. Mayville Public Library President Grant Larson says construction will start when funds to complete the project have been raised.
