Person Struck, Killed By Train In Lomira

10/2/17 – The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a person struck by a train in the Village of Lomira.  A northbound Canadian National Railroad train struck the victim on the tracks just before midnight, adjacent to and west of Industrial Drive, north of the grade crossing at County Road HH.  The area of the collision was not at a road crossing.  Personnel were still working to identify the individual who died, therefore no families have been notified and no names will be released until that time.  The train was still stopped in the area as part of the investigation, and some roads were blocked as a result.  No major highways were affected.  A medical helicopter was put on standby, but was canceled after the person was found deceased at the scene. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Wisconsin State Patrol, Lomira Fire Department and First Responders, Theresa EMS, and the Dodge County Medical Examiner.
