(Beaver Dam) The 23nd Annual Relay for Life of the Beaver Dam Area was held on Friday night. The goal is to help raise awareness and money for the American Cancer Society in their fight to battle the disease. Relay for Life Co-chair Leann Tramm says roughly 200 people attended the event. The goal this year is to raise $50-thousand dollars and Tramm says before Relay for Life started they had around $28-thousand. While a tally of the funds raised from Friday’s event will not be calculated until later this week, Tramm says the group has a very good chance to reach their goal. Those interested in sending contributions can still do so through the American Cancer society website or on the Beaver Dam Relay for Life Facebook page by August 31st. Tramm says there will also be several local fundraising events planned throughout the summer.
