OCTOBER 26TH – MINCEMEAT PIE

Apple Mincemeat

8 lb. apples, don’t need to peel, just core and chop

1 lb. raisins, chopped or whole

1 ½ lb. brown sugar

1 Tbsp. salt

½ tsp. pepper

½ tsp. EACH: cloves, ground cinnamon and allspice

½ c. molasses

½ c. vinegar

Mix all ingredients well. Boil 40 minutes or until thickened. Stir frequently so it doesn’t burn. Pack in jars and water bath for 20 minutes.
